As one might expect, trains are the driving force of Pocket Trains. Each train type has distinct statistics — capacity, speed, fuel, etc — that determine its route and carrying capabilities. The fuel of a train can be increased by adding fuel cars, and the capacity of a train can be increased by adding addition engines.
Additionally, each train has a unique name which can be changed, and the color of the train's railroad line can also be changed.
As of Version 1.0, there are 27 available trains in Pocket Trains, ranging from small steam engines to futuristic high-speed trains.
Trains use fuel to travel between cities, and are slowly refilled when stopped at a station. Trains can be instantly refueled by using bux.
Trains are subject to mechanical failures, which can be repaired using spare train parts or with coins.
Long trains can be scrolled while in the station or traveling by swiping on the train.
