Winning races can be hard in Racing Rivals. Unlike most games of its type, there is no form of "energy" that artificially and arbitrarily keeps you from playing the game as much as you want, but if you car is not fast enough, then you can play as much as you want and it won't even matter. Read on for the top 10 tips and tricks in Racing Rivals.
10. Play multiplayer mode as much as possible.
There comes a point when you get stuck in the campaign race, and you either get stuck in the three daily challenge races, or you run out of daily challenges to complete. At this point, play the multiplayer mode as often as possible to earn coins. Plus, the street cred that you earn will allow you to complete missions, which will earn you coins rapidly, thus allowing you to upgrade your car.
9: Drop weight from your car.
You can have as much horsepower and torque as you want but if you aren't dropping weight from your car, it doesn't matter because you'll never win the toughest races. Go to the upgrade area and under "Chassis", you'll be able to drop weight up to three times. This can take up to 25% of the weight off the car, which allows you to go WAY faster, without worrying about extra engine damage.
8: Forced Induction.
If you haven't either purchased a supercharger or a turbocharger conversion, then you won't be using your car to its full potential. These add insane amounts of horsepower and torque. If you run out of steam in the top end, then turbochargers are your best bet. Low and midrange torque is best improved with a supercharger. Either way, you cannot go wrong.
Nitrous Oxide, or NOS, becomes absolutely necessary to win races in the later rounds. A good 50 shot is your initial NOS boost, and this alone will put you over the top in many races that you found it previously impossible to beat. However, you are going to need to upgrade your NOS in order to blow away your opponents.
6: Watch videos for coins
Have you run out of races to run, or you're having a difficult time beating people in the Multiplayer mode? The solution is simple. Go to the store area, and you can watch videos, and earn free coins for every video that you watch. Watch them until you have enough money for some good upgrades. Once you upgrade, you'll stand more of a chance.
5: Use the absolute best tires in the entire upgrade store.
Unlike with other upgrades, you don't have to buy one Nitto tire upgrade at a time. You can ugprade in whatever order you want to. Skip every other upgrade and buy the best tires that are on sale in the store. Anything less, and you are likely to spin your wheels even when you get a perfect launch going, especially once you drop the weight of the car or add forced induction.
4: Time your shifts perfectly.
No matter how many upgrades you have, you need to hit the green lights for your launch and your shifts if you want to have the best time that you can in a race. Rev so that the RPMs set off the green light without going into the red. Then match the launch button with the green light. Then shift when it's in the green light so that you can hit the perfect shift every time. This will earn you bonus coins as well.
3: Keep upgrading your NOS
Don't just do the conversion and be done with it. Upgrade the size of your tank to improve the length of time that your NOS shot lasts for. Upgrade the size of your nozzles to change from a 50 shot to a 75 shot to a 100 shot, and so on and so forth. The bigger the shot, the more horsepower is added when you use the NOS.
2: Race for Pinks.
Race for Pinks. Challenge people to bets, or wait for them to challenge you, and then raise the bet to pinks. You can't do this with only one car, but once you have at least two cars, you can race for pinks. Do this, and you will be able to get free cars if you win. Rack up the free cars and you will never have to take a break from racing when you need to repair a car.
1: Play to your car's weaknesses.
Does your car lose steam at the top end? Save your NOS until then, and use the turbocharger conversion (and upgrade your tires). Does your car lag at the very beginning? Use your NOS later on in the race, and buy a supercharger. You can always tune your car, and control your NOS timing, so that you can mitigate any flaws that your car has.
