The incredibly successful casual games firm, Zynga, is making a lot of headway with its ever-expanding infrastructure. Revealed today, Zynga now has over 1,200 full-time employees to account for the steadily increasing traffic.
The social games developer, well known for its creation of the massively popular FarmVille, is responsible for six of the most popular games on Facebook right now, according to monthly active users.
With all of this growth and all of this data, Zynga has been adding as much as 1,000 servers per week, according to a report from TechCrunch. With over a petabyte of new data being added everyday, Zynga is rapidly bringing in new studios to bring even more to the table. Having recently acquired XPD Media and Unum, Zynga now has 13 studios under its belt.
Zynga's CTO Cadir Lee, speaking at Oracle's OpenWorld conference, stated that over 10% of the internet population, approximately 215 million monthly users, has played a Zynga title.
Zynga plans to launch a Chinese version of Texas Holdem Poker in the near future, aligning with new initiatives in Asia, and though the increased workload for the company is strenuous, Zynga continues to live by three goals: establishing trust with its users, providing quality experiences for its users and making games available.
