The Syfy network has announced that it's getting into social game development, starting with a slate of unannounced Facebook games set to release later this year.

The games will be published by the company's new business unit Syfy Ventures, and will debut on Facebook but are expected to spread to other social networks in the future as well. Unfortunately, we don't know yet what those games will be.

Most likely they will tie-in somehow to Syfy's large line-up of television shows, which includes notable series like Battlestar Galactica and Stargate Universe.
