If you're a subscriber to the Sims Social newsletter, you've likely received a celebratory email this weekend, as Playfish and EA are celebrating the Sims Social's six month anniversary. To celebrate, the developer is giving its "most loyal players" a free gift: a "Life's a Beach Towel (Fruit Punch)."

You'll claim this free towel using the link in your latest email newsletter, making this item far less exclusive than it might initially appear. That is, you don't have to be a daily player to be eligible for this prize. As long as you receive email newsletters about the game, you'll be able to earn a free towel.

Once you get it into your game, you'll find that the towel has a value of 800 Social Points, and adds $2,050 to your House's Value. If you choose to sell it, you'll receive a quick 800 Simoleons. That's not a bad amount, but actually selling the item will be up to you. Personally, I think I'll keep this fun item for now.
