Farmville lovers may get a old, new game to play pretty soon! Farmville 2. According to some recent changes with the domain name Farmville2.com, it would appear that Zynga is getting its ducks in a row to launch a second series of its super popular game Farmville.

Farmville2.com was not owned by Zynga and was owned by somebody in Turkey as late as January 2012. Move forward to February 10, 2012 and a new owner shows up in whois history records for the domain name and displays "David Caplan" of law firm KMW Law with the domain name registered at GoDaddy.com

By April 15, 2012 (yesterday) the domain name is now registered with domain name registrar MarkMonitor and under its general/privacy registration information DnStination Inc. Zynga is behind this, because MarkMonitor doesn't register trademark terms as domain names for "other companies" and not that likely to allow one to be transferred in!
Just because Zynga is behind the new ownership of Farmville2.com, doesn't automatically mean that they (Zynga) will be launching "Farmville 2" as they could simply be putting focus on protecting its mark, but it is likely they chased down the domain name for a reason more than that.
It wouldn't surprise me if we see Farmville 2 launched by Zynga in the very near future!
