The Friend Game is the next game from Zynga New York, namely the Area/Code portion of the studio responsible for mobile hit Drop7. Zynga has revealed that the game is in a closed beta test and a few details about how it plays.

"The Friend Game is unlike any game Zynga's ever made before. We've set out to reimagine what "social gaming" means–and instead of taking a familiar type of game and making it social, we're making your social network into a game," Zynga New York's Demetri Detsaridis wrote on the Zynga blog. "The Friend Game is all about how well you know your friends and how well your friends know you."

But you already knew that, didn't you? Even in "closed beta," The Friend Game is shaping up to be one interesting take on just what a social game is supposed to be. If anything, it totally has Words With Friends-like potential. If you can't get into The Friend Game yet, "Like" the game on Facebook for updates as soon as they come.
