While your Kingdoms in CastleVille are buzzing with the news that Rafael is going to ask Yvette to marry him, Alistair is one character that's focused on something else: Magic Torches. After you've placed the Magic Torch Shop in Rafael's proposal quest line, Alistair will immediately appear with a series of quests all his own called "An Illumination Education." There are four quests in this series in all, and here with a guide on completing them, thanks to Zynga.
First Rule of Magic Torch Shop
A Magic Torch of Romance can be created in the Magic Torch Shop using one Power of Heart, three Flower Seeds, four Red Feathers and five Berries. Once it's crafted, you're encouraged to place it next to as many homes in your Kingdom as you can, with every "compatible" home glowing pink as you try and decide the Torch's best placement. The first four times you collect rent from one of these compatible homes, you'll receive a Love Diamond, and you'll receive 2,000 coins and 40 XP for finishing this first quest.
Power in Numbers
Once you place a Magic Torch of Romance, it can't be moved, so make sure you're exact in your placement before you ever click that button. Remember, a single collection will only give you one Love Diamond, so if you don't have two torches active at once, you'll still need to craft at least two to complete this overall quest. When you do that, you'll receive 2,500 coins and 50 XP.
While Magic Torches or Romance work on homes in your Kingdom, Magic Torches of Haste work on crafting buildings like Workshops and Kitchens. A single Magic Torch of Haste requires one Turbo Mallet (post a request on your wall), two Gloom Wolf Hair, three Amber and five Beeswax to complete. Unlike the Romance Torches, these Magic Torches of Haste last for a 24 hour period, so you'll want to craft as many different items as you can while a single torch's boost is active. Luckily, these Torches can be "stacked" next to buildings, increasing the effect, as you can see at right. When you complete this quest, you'll earn 3,250 coins and 65 XP.
The Final Countdown
After you craft, use, and clear a Torch, you'll receive bonus items like Reputation Hearts and crafting materials as a final reward for your trouble. This quest is time consuming, but if you craft at least one of each type of Torch each time you come into the game, you'll eventually finish this one off. You'll receive 3,250 coins, 65 XP and an Energy can for completing this final quest in the series. Good luck!
