CastleVille Guide: Loading Problems for Windows

For optimal performance while playing CastleVille, it's important to have the most current Flash Player installed. Without the latest flash update, it is possible to experience loading error messages and blank screens.

For Safari, Firefox and Opera browsers

These instructions are for Windows

1. Download the Flash Player uninstaller
2. Exit all browsers and other programs that use Flash
3. Run the uninstaller
4. Verify that uninstallation is complete
5. Reinstall Flash Player

1. Download the Flash Player uninstaller

Download the correct Flash Player uninstaller for your version of Windows.Download the correct Flash Player uninstaller for your version of Windows. (For help with this step, see How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system.)

• 32-bit uninstaller (229 KB)
• 64-bit uninstaller (229 KB)

Save the file in a location where you can find it easily after you restart your PC, for example on your Windows desktop.

2. Exit all browsers and other programs that use Flash

The uninstaller will not work if any programs that use Flash are running on your PC.

Look at the taskbar. If the taskbar contains program icons for a browser or for a game that uses Flash (any file with a name that ends in .swf), right-click each icon and choose Close. This example shows a browser in the taskbar:

Look at the icons in the system tray for programs that run in the background. Examples include AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and games that use Flash (any file with a name that ends in .swf). If you see such an icon, right-click the icon and click Exit, as shown in this example:

3. Run the uninstaller

1. Double-click the icon of the installer that you saved in step 1.
2. Follow the prompts. If you see the message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?," click Yes.

4. Verify that uninstallation is complete

Restart your computer. Open your browser and go to the About Adobe Flash Player page.

If uninstallation is complete: If the About Adobe Flash Player page displays an empty box, a question mark, or the message "Adobe Flash Player cannot be found," then uninstallation is complete.

If uninstallation is not complete: If the About Adobe Flash Player page displays following Version Information box like the one below, then uninstallation is not complete. Repeat steps 2-4 above to complete the uninstallation process before continuing.

5. Reinstall Flash Player

• Click this link to download the newest Flash Player: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
• Click on the Download now button.

• After the download completes, find the Flash Player Installer, and click on it to install.

**********For Google Chrome Users:**********

Since Chrome has Flash built into the browser you will need to update your current version of Chrome. Keep in mind that even if you have updated recently, a hotfix may have been released requiring you to update again. Click here to get the very latest version of Google Chrome.
