Temporary Respect

Temporary Respect is earned and calculated into your overall Respect total, but this Respect also can be lost in certain circumstances.

How to earn temporary respect?

Leveling buildings in the Neighborhood

• One type of Temporary Respect is the Respect you gain from constructing and upgrading buildings in your Neighborhood. As long as that building stands, you earn Respect from it. If you destroy that building, the Respect is lost too until you begin rebuilding again.

Stationing units at the Estate or Cityscapes under your control

• When stationed at the Estate, that unit will give some Respect, but will earn even more Respect when they become stationed on a Cityscape. Basically, each unit has a base Respect value equal to the amount of Respect earned from stationing that unit on a Level 1 Cityscape. When moving that unit to a Level 1 Cityscape from the Estate, that unit will earn the same Respect at both places. However, if that unit is stationed at a Cityscape that is Level 2 or above, that unit will be worth more for as long as it is stationed there.

Permanent Respect

This type of Respect is earned and cannot be lost-- ever.Under any circumstances.

How to earn Permanent Respect?

Leveling buildings in the Estate

• Since buildings in your Estate can not be destroyed, the amount of Respect you earn from upgrading and constructing them does not disappear either. Simple.

Leveling Research at your Library

• When you level your Research, you earn Respect from each level that cannot decrease. Also Simple.

Player units killed during PvP battles

• When battling another player (either at an Estate or Cityscape) Respect is earned from the units that die in battle. If you kill their units, regardless of if you are on the offensive or defensive side, you will earn Permanent Respect from those deaths. Likewise, if your opponent kills your units, they will earn Respect from those deaths.

Capped and Uncapped Respect

Another element that needs some explanation as well. Each type of Respect that you can earn in the game falls into one of two categories: Capped and Uncapped. Respect caps function the same was a Resource cap would, in that the amount of Respect you earn from certain features of the game have a limit.

Capped Respect

• Respect earned from stationing on Cityscapes. (Temporary)
• Respect earned from Research (Permanent)
• Respect earned from Buildings in the Estate. (Permanent)
• Respect earned from Buildings in the Neighborhood. (Temporary)

There is a finite level of Researches that are available, and therefore a finite amount of Respect you can earn from researching them. On that same plane, the Respect you earn from buildings is also capped as there is a limited amount of buildings you can build and upgrade. Simple, right?

While these Respect caps may be obvious, the amount of Respect earned from Cityscapes is also capped. There is a limit to how many units you can station at your Cityscape, and that is equal to the amount of units you can send in a single march. At the highest level of Logistics, you can send 10000 units in a single march, which means you can store a maximum of 10000 units on each Cityscape you control.

The type pf units stationed on the Cityscape matters, with harder hitting units earning more Respect. So if you have the maximum amount of the hardest hitting units on the highest level Cityscape (10000 Professionals on a Level 10 Cityscape), you will reach your cap.

Uncapped Respect

• Respect earned from stationing units at the Estate. (Temporary)
• Respect earned from killing units during PvP. (Permanent)

The amount of Respect you earn from stationing units at the Estate is essentially only capped by the amount of Cash you are willing to spend on Upkeep for all those units.

The amount of Respect you earn from killing units in PvP battles is uncapped as well-- and this is what it going to make the big difference on the leaderboard rankings. If you want to be a Don, you have to shed some blood, and the more blood you shed, the more Respect you earn for doing so. In this system, you can earn an unlimited amount of Respect for killing an unlimited amount of units.
