Russian PC game developer Nival has announced today that they will be bringing the first ever social installment in the King's Bounty series - King's Bounty: Legions - to Facebook sometime this summer. Widely considered to be the predecessor of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, Nival hopes to capitalize on the franchise's existing fan base, along with introducing the brand to the unfamiliar. Taking the turn-based strategy gameplay that the series is known for and adding a social twist, King's Bounty: Legions will present players with an in-depth storyline spread across 40 initial gameplay levels.

When it comes to form, Facebook games sure have come a long way since Mafia Wars, but function is another story. JollyWood, Tecmo Koei's first serious outing on the platform, is a prime example of just that. Tecmo Singapore has crafted one fine-looking social game, animated introductions and all, but you'll see that JollyWood is just like the rest after even a few minutes of play. This isn't to say the game is poorly-made, we've just seen it far too many times before. (And unfortunately, we'll likely see it again.)

Social game developers Zynga announced in 20 already and DreamWorks Animation signed a cooperation agreement, through the game "CityVille" promotion upcoming new movie "kung fu panda 2".

EA2D, who brought us Dragon Age Legends on Facebook, decided to give game developer Evan "PixelAnte" Miller a shot at making his own Dragon Age game by using EA2D's game assets. What resulted was 'Dragon Age Legends Remix 01', which was released earlier this week. Miller's game isn't on Facebook, but the items that you earn in DAL: Remix 01 can be used in the Facebook game. And in turn, we know that playing the Facebook game gets you free goodies for Dragon Age II on the PC and console.

PopCap Games launched a social game adaptation of its Plants vs. Zombies tower defense franchise on Chinese social network Renren today. The developer told us last month that "what happens in Asia stays in Asia," so we don't expect to see a United States release of the title for Facebook anytime soon.

The small-time company, based in Zynga's backyard of San Francisco, is known for Casino City and BarWorld, though whether those games will still exist in their own right is unknown.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire is an adaptation of the TV game show of the same name produced by ABC Television Network. The game launched in mid-March, but was taken down for stability issues and re-launched March 29. In April, the game added the ability to advance to Round 2 and not long after, the game broke into our weekly top gainers lists and still remains on it at time of writing.
